Security

We use the strongest and most secure, commercially available version of 128-bit Secure Socket Layers (SSL) encryption.

SSL encrypts all of your personal information, including name and address. This ensures that your details cannot be read as they travel over the Internet.

There are three visible signs that the page you are using is secure:

• The web address will start with https:// - the 's' stands for secure.
• There will also be a small padlock displayed to  the right  of the address bar.
• In all current versions of Microsoft® Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Opera, the   address bar will either turn green or the name of the Extended Validation certificate owner will be displayed in green. The security status bar shows that the transfer of information is encrypted and the organization has been authenticated according to the most rigorous industry standard.

Please note: hmv.ca will never email you and ask for your credit card information or the card's PIN number, your account password or your bank details.

If you are contacted or receive an unsolicited e-mail that asks you for your password or personal banking information, disregard the request and report the communication to hmv.ca for immediate investigation.
